about us

Founded in 1993, Check Technology Solutions develops flexible heating and comfort solutions for a variety of innovative applications. Check designs, engineers, manufactures, and provides customer support from its Troy, Michigan headquarters.

Using time-proven technologies and methodologies, Check is the pioneer of heating systems in a range of markets. We introduced the original Electric HotBag™ the first electrically heated pizza delivery bag in 1994. Since then, the product line has expanded to meet the needs of the food service and delivery industries.

Our comfort solutions include aftermarket seat heater systems, which are installed in automobiles, motorcycles, boats, and RVs. After innovating the transportation industry, we have brought our systems into the healthcare market and extended the systems to include power solutions and massage.

Today our products are sold worldwide through distributors, OEMs, and our online retail store.

Check’s history

1993: Check is Established

Check Technology Solutions, offering the first automotive OEM quality seat heater system to the automotive aftermarket, is established. At the time, heat is an option available only on a couple high-end vehicles. As the only aftermarket manufacturer, Check was now offering this feature to anyone who wanted it – regardless of vehicle year, make, or model.

1994: Introducing HotBags

Check applies their flexible heating technology to the food delivery industry by bringing the world’s first heated pizza delivery bag to market. Over the next 20 years and three patents later, Check maintains its position as the world leader in the manufacturing and sales of a heated food delivery bags – servicing just about every type of food retailer known.

1995: Expanding Markets

Check enters new markets as it begins designing and building custom seat heater systems for seat manufacturers servicing industries such as RV, Marine, and Van Conversion. Check also introduces the first dual-temperature seat heater into the automotive aftermarket.

2001: Bringing Comfort to Healthcare

Maintaining its innovative leadership for seating comfort, Check becomes the first company to introduce the seat heat feature to the medical industry. Hospitals and clinics serving patient confined to medical recliners for long periods of time can now offer these patients a warmer, more comfortable stay during treatments for chemotherapy, dialysis, among others.

2003: Ultimate Comfort with Warmth and Therapeutic Massage

Check expands its product offerings by introducing a new feature to the seat heat system—massage. Massage systems can now be added along with a seat heater system.

Due to growth, Check also moves into a 40,000 Sqft facility in Troy, Michigan. Though the building had already existed, prior to move in, it under-went a major interior renovation and by summer became Check Technology Solutions’ world headquarters.

2008: Expanding U.S. Manufacturing Capabilities

With the organization firmly planted and 14 years of continued growth in all markets, it was time to implement plans for vertical integration within our manufacturing area. Check added a low pressure, low heat over mold process to our core manufacturing competencies. This allowed for more flexibility over the final production of the control modules.

2013: Check Corporation celebrates 20 years in business.

The SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturers Association) Organization awards Check Corporation with its Manufacturer of the Year award for outstanding service in the automotive aftermarket industry.

2024: IMT Acquires Check Technology

Innovative Motion Technologies (IMT), a leading industrial technology platform specializing in interface and control solutions, acquires Check Technology Solutions. The acquisition enhances IMT’s strategic position in the healthcare, agriculture, and off-road vehicle markets.
